Next week, the Empteezy team head to Interspill 2018 to launch our range of containment booms at stand S451 and talk to like-minded inviduals in a thriving industry. The event is open now for free registration, running from the 13 - 15 March at the ExCel in London.
The leading European oil spill conference and exhibition will look at potential issues to be raised from any future oil spills, including Spill Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Restoration, providing a unique platform for oil spill industry professionals, academia and government to meet, discuss and network.
The event will see us showcase our range of containment booms suitable for different conditions: fence booms, curtain booms and air containment booms.
Our booms provide a temporary floating barrier which allows you to reduce the possibility of polluting shorelines and other resources, and makes the recovery of oils easier in the event of a spill.
- The reduced volume of an air filled boom is an asset when it has to be transported to a new location. In addition this boom is particularly suited to open water where its high buoyancy to weight ratio assists its performance in the water and it has excellent UV and chemical resistance.
- Fence Booms are lightweight, easy to use and ideal for deploying from a reel. They take up very little storage space and can be easily transported to a new location. Please note that fence booms are not recommended for towing at sea.
- Curtain booms have a high buoyancy to weight ratio and respond well to wave action making them ideal in inland or sheltered water applications such as a harbour. They have excellent UV and chemical resistance.
- Permanent booms are robust and hard-wearing making them suitable for long term deployment. For an example of our permanent booms, take a look at the video below.
Commenting on the launch, our Managing Director Bruce Wishart said: “Hundreds of gallons of oil pollutes our oceans every year which impacts shorelines across the globe and has a knock-on effect on the environment and wildlife.
“It is important that companies have access to the right oil spill response equipment such as containment booms, to combat oil spills and reduce the impact on the environment.”
