Founded in 2001 by it’s current Directors, CPS Ltd is today a highly successful and entirely unique business operating in the UK and Europe. We offer unrivalled capabilities and experience in the design, supply and installation of chemical processing equipment manufactured in corrosion resistant thermoplastics.
One of our customers required a chemical dispensing and waste collection system for a new process. No existing space was available on site for chemical storage and so we required a bespoke chemical store. This needed to be Atex rated with sufficient storage space for 6 IBC’s. We also needed a rear accessible area behind the IBC’s to install our pumps and pipework which meant a container sized at 9m x 3.6m.
Our system is a fully automated chemical dispensing system. The IBC’s are mounted on load cells so that the customer can check chemical usage and also know when The IBC’s are running low. The chemicals are filtered and then pumped automatically to the customers process equipment.

]]>At InkMaker UK Ltd, we provide automated dispensing systems for an array of applications; our systems are used by many of the biggest names in the ink, paint and packaging sectors. We are a global company with locations and facilities in 4 continents and manufacturing sites in Europe and Asia. Rexson Systems were incorporated into the Inkmaker Group of companies in 2019 to enhance our product portfolio and market reach.
Product Information
Our client requested a bespoke safe and compliant Storage and Dispensation System combined, for their highly flammable solvent-based Inks in six Steel IBCs. They needed a single-tier unit to house these six IBC’s, with sufficient room inside to accommodate hoses and air-driven pumps to each IBC. It needed to be fully bunded and with channels to keep the hoses suspended clear of the bund.
To fully comply with the DSEAR 2002 Regulations and HSE guidelines, the unit provided is Fire Rated to 1 hour.
Working with Empteezy
We have worked with Empteezy on several projects and have another pending which we hope to have secured in the next two months. Our business is predominantly manufacturing ink dispensing and blending equipment for packaging converters and printers. This equipment manufactures bespoke colours on a just-in-time basis, to suit the designs and branding of the product being printed. However, certain inks are used in large volumes and do not require blending, such as Whites and Lacquers that are applied in large quantities onto the printed product. It is becoming more common for printers to store these products in bulk, safely away from the factory floor – primarily for fire safety and housekeeping reasons, as these products are typically solvent-based with low flashpoints. Inkmaker UK (previously Rexson Systems) have supplied many systems which allow the safe storage of these high usage inks away from the factory floor in a safe environment and pump product directly to the printing press. On occasion, when undertaking a project of this nature, the customer will not have internal space which is either available or suitable for the storage of flammable products; therefore we will look at the option of external storage facilities. Again, due to space constraints, it becomes necessary to store these products as close to the factory as possible to facilitate short piping distances, taking care not to impede roadways etc.
In these instances, we have worked closely with Empteezy to recommend and specify the appropriately Regulation-compliant Fire Rated storage containers. We worked closely with Nick Freeman in the specification stages to arrive at a quotation and a final specification that is desired by the customer (and often their insurers), to include such options as Fire Suppression. Once the project is underway, our design team continue to work hand in hand with Nick and his team to confirm precise details for the location of pumps and pipework within the container.
The units are made to a high standard, and it reflects well on the overall project to have Empteezy on board. The transport and delivery of the cabinet is dealt with by Empeezy, and we have none of the problems with unloading and siting the equipment we have experienced with previous vendors.”
Martin Black, Area Sales Manager at Rexson.

]]>Since their inception in 2013, Fourpure has enjoyed great success which has seem them expand their ranks to over 50 staff. Recently, their brewery in Bermondsey, South London had an automated Clean-in-place (CIP) unit installed which uses 205l drums - which prompted the requirement for storage equipment of brewery cleaning chemicals.
The next couple of years are going to be big for Fourpure with a planned £2m investment which will soon see the expansion of their state-of the art brewing, packaging and distribution business into a fifth warehouse, covering a total of 25,000 square feet and allowing them to increase production capability by 400% to 14 million pints per year.
Ahead of this, Head of Packaging, Steve Morris sought advice on which liquid storage products would help Fourpure’s requirements and contacted Empteezy. One of Empteezy’s helpful sales team came to site to conduct a site assessment, specifically looking to advise on HSE regulatory compliance.
The detailed report lead to the purchase of spill kit, sump flooring and combination emergency showers for the production premises.
Fourpure are very much seen as a progressive brewer and picked up the UK’s Most Innovative and Best Brewery Business at the 2017 SIBA (Society of Independent Brewer) Awards: with a strong commitment to sustainable brewing and health and safety, they were keen to understand the best practice for the transportation, storage and use of their liquids. Empteezy were happy to oblige with their knowledge.
Head of Packaging for Fourpure, Steve Morris, had the following to say regarding working with Empteezy - “We’ve been working with Empteezy for a few years now and have found them to be very helpful and quick to respond.
“When I made my initial enquiry, one of the Empteezy sales team attended a site meeting and then carried out a subsequent site visit where they were able recommend solutions and products that helped us comply with H&S legislation, as well as providing vital information regarding the storage of chemicals.
“With continued success of the business and consequent expansion, we’ll be looking to Empteezy again to supply further support and assistance”

]]>Now, Fingal has been transformed into an exquisite 23 cabin boutique hotel and exclusive use venue by the award winning team at The Royal Yacht Britannia.
The luxury accommodation docked in Leith is the paragon of prestige and as such needs to be presented in equally beautiful location. Due to its location and the connection to the Firth of Forth, it was collecting a lot of debris in the dock, a recurring nuisance for the management to maintain the prestige presentation such a fine vessel deserves.
Maintenance Team Manager at The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust, Tony Smith required a solution and after researching solutions, he came across Empteezy and their range of containment booms. In Tony’s previous 16 years working for the Royal Yacht Britannia Trust, he had experience using booms before and had bought from other providers but had experienced mixed results.
After speaking with a number of solution providers, Tony opted for Empteezy and their Permanent Boom (PB450) which is suitable for long term deployment because they are robust and hard wearing. Due to the requirements of dock, the boom had to be altered to a bespoke 10m version with a 300mm draft (that’s how deep the Skirt goes under the water) and a Freeboard (how high it sticks out above water level) of 150mm.
An additional benefit of this customisation is that as the that this 30m boom was made in 10m lengths, it can be easily lengthened/shortened if desired just by adding/removing 10m lengths with a conjoiner called a Standard ASTM or optional Norway connector.
The height of the freeboard stops any general flotsam and litter floating up the river, blowing over the boom and into the ships’ docking area. The geographic location of the ship and the waterway, means the amount of litter was proving a to be a problem.
Since deploying the Permanent Boom, Fingal has been clear and free of surrounding debris in the dock. Find out more about how we can help protect your business by contacting us.
]]>With a focus on quality customer experience from start to finish, Empteezy Ltd recognised the need for a delivery partner of esteemed reputation which they found in Dyce Carriers.
Working together since 2017, the spill containment specialists approached the National Road Transport business that operates a fleet of 100 modern haulage trucks. With a variety of large steel units being manufactured at the Empteezy factory in Livingston, access to the Dyce Carrier range of HIAB vehicles and trailers ensures however big a unit may be, it is guaranteed the very best and safest of journeys.
This is particularly prevalent in the bespoke compounds and bunded storage units manufactured by Empteezy. The latest project saw a three-part compound being delivered to the North of England with the ability to hold 192 drums or 16 IBCs. With dimensions of around 11 x 8 x 5 metres, the teams worked together to create a successful logistical solution.
The magnitude of these products are handled by Dyce Carriers perfectly, who are more than equipped to deal with abnormal loads via their extended trailers and experienced drivers.
It is not simply the quality of the fleet on offer that cements the strong working relationship between the two companies however; for Empteezy, it is important to work with an organisation that has reflected values. Both hold ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations, improving on air quality and work hard to maintain the highest of environmental standards.
Most importantly, the relationship fostered by both companies allows for a seamless and productive partnership, helping to achieve excellent customer service. From Depot Manager to Driver, Dyce Carriers provide a customer facing solution Empteezy can be proud of.
Commenting on the successful relationship with Dyce Carriers, MD of Empteezy Bruce Wishart said, “It is important to us that not only do we work with a company we are proud to be represented by, but that the people behind the scenes, getting the job done, are reliable, hard-working and go above and beyond to strive for excellence. This is very much what we experience from Dyce Carriers and look forward to working together for a long time to come. ”
This was echoed by Dyce Carriers MD Jason Moir who reiterated, “Being a family run business, our values and principles are very important to us. We have such a fantastic working relationship with Empteezy because they have such a strong set of core values, that are very much in-line with our own. It is always a pleasure to work with a company with such a commendable approach to business.”.

We were delighted to be given the opportunity to collaborate with Broxburn Bottlers on a project to safeguard employees and their surroundings from broken glass. This resulted in the creation of a steel Auto Dumping Container on castors, modified to include a lid with brush cut out. This entry system keeps any broken bottles safely within the container, ready for safe disposal.
“The auto dumping containers have been great for disposing of glass safely. They are easy to manoeuvre, one person can manage so they can be used close to where they are needed. The main benefit is the ease of emptying with no risk to staff from broken glass. The robust construction also means they are durable - previous plastic containers constantly needed replacing due to the damage glass can cause.”
- Andy Savage, Broxburn Bottlers
Employee safety is of paramount importance to Broxburn Bottlers. In addition to the safe glass disposal mechanism, the Auto Dumping Container is designed for minimal worker involvement: no wires, no climbing – it is fully automatic, allowing workers to mobilise form inside a forklift truck.

Matt Steeden the Display Fleet Manager runs the Restoration, Historical Conservation, Display and Vehicle Rides with 11 full time staff, 1 apprentice, and 46 volunteers, the apprenticeship scheme started in 2016 and the plan is to take on 2 more apprentices this year and 1 a year thereafter.
Matt has been reviewing all the areas he is responsible for to try and maximise covered space to keep vehicles in. The existing lubricants & oils storage area had historically been located in one corner of a “hanger” taking up valuable storage space, so Matt looked at alternatives and contacted Empteezy® requesting a site visit to discuss viable options.
Consideration was given to all aspects of the relocation including Health & Safety and possible environmental impact and it was decided to invest in a fully bunded steel fabricated drum & IBC store which is accessed via sliding doors and is backed by a 20 year structural guarantee.
The fully bunded store is a DPU32-8 which is designed to accommodate 32 x 205ltr drums or 8 x 1000ltr IBC or a combination of both. The unit is fully compliant with regulations relating to the sump capacity, namely it can hold 25% of the combined total of the liquids stored and it can withstand a container falling without compromising the structure of the unit.
Future plans for the department include the building of a brand new maintenance facility, with funding having been successfully applied for from the National Lottery in the sum of £2.6m. Work on the new facility is due to start in August this year with a completion date of April 2018. As part of the program of work Matt is looking at gaining accreditation to ISO14001 and to that end will involve Empteezy® in the selection of appropriate equipment (storage, spill kits and waste handling) to help ensure they are compliant.
